A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hafs ibn Qart from abu Hamza from abu Ja’far عليه السلام who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far عليه السلام has said, ‘Maintaining good relations with relatives improves moral behavior, strengthens the ability to be generous with the pleasure of one’s soul, increases one’s means of sustenance and delays the coming of death.’”
